IStructE visit

Just enjoyed a visit from Sarah Buck, President of IStructE and Dr Keith Eaton, the Chief Executive. They were given a description of an oilsand project and how we manage it as structural engineers. We had a number of little presentations but I left my presentation about electronic-type calculations to the end and time was getting tighter and tighter. Stayed cool though. But it acted well as a dessert to the main course, short sweet, colourful and packing a punch. You could see this was something that was interesting and tempting.

The little party go on to downtown Calgary to visit a construction site and there's a blizzard in progress! It was a pleasant visit and I look forward to meeting up with them for dinner tonight.
